The AUN Schools Orchestra showcased their skills in playing the violin at the music concert that they hosted on February 13. Members of the Orchestra are made up of students from the AUN Academy and the AUN Charter School.
Head of the Vocational Department of the AUN Academy, Vincent Odeh, said that the children have been rehearsing for a long time.
“We created this opportunity for our students all of the time to give them a foretaste of what it is like to perform before an audience.”
The platform offered a lot of benefits for them while they entertained their audience who enjoyed their performances.
“It is also our hope that in doing this activity repeatedly that their confidence is strengthened and that their skills in music is also sharpened.”
While giving her opening remarks, Administrator, AUN Schools, Nkem Uzowulo, told the guests that the institution sees to the overall development of every child.
“We don’t only teach our students’ academic subjects; we also do vocation because at the end of the day we don’t know what will put food on the table of the children.”
At the music concert that was organized by the AUN Academy, sophomore Communications & Multimedia Design Major at AUN, Vanessa Heart, was the star performer. She displayed her skills in singing, dancing and playing musical instruments.
The very passionate entertainer said she loved dances and felt it would be nice to come back to showcase her skills once more in her Alma Mata.
“I might do it again.”
During her time as a student, she won talent shows a bunch of times and, upon graduating, received a certificate for her general contribution to student life.
The concert had secondary school students from neighboring Yola community. The students who came from Abti International Secondary School and Airforce Secondary School also captivated the audience with their respective presentations
